Lincoln Community Arts Centre

To design a ‘Community Centre’ within the cathedral quarter of Lincoln, UK. The focus was to draw together students and residents of the area to share an interest in the Arts. The centre was designed to have workshops, indoor/outdoor exhibition space, and facilities linked to the University and College.

Contextual Design Project for 2nd Year Architecture.
 
The Project was to design a ‘Community Centre’ within the cathedral quarter of Lincoln, UK. The focus was to draw together students and residents of the area to share an interest in the Arts. Site Analysis: Taking inspiration from the site and its context to draw influence from colours, textures and materials to create a palatte in which to develope and design the end architectual result on.
Sun Light Analysis: Developed sunlight analysis to understand how the external envrioment will impact on the orintation of the concept, which would have a direct link into the internal envrioment.
Sketch Proposals:  Sketch ideas for atrium design based on photographic leaf structure.
Developed Sketches: Using exploded photographic drawings to create strcutual composistions to compliment the Atrium
